Experiences

LOCAL LIFE, MEANINGFUL MOMENTS

Experiences

Small, personal activities shaped by real hosts, guest interests, local knowledge, materials, weather, season, safety, and the natural rhythm of South Blitar.

HOW IT WORKS

Every Experience Begins with a Conversation

Dikasih considers participant numbers and ages, interests, available time, physical ability, dietary requirements, materials, weather, season, host schedules, local environmental priorities, transport, and safety.

Some activities are possible at short notice. Others need preparation. Nature-related activities cannot be promised simply because a visitor selected a date.

CHOOSE AN EXPERIENCE

Possible Formats

01 · Coffee Experience

Beans, home roasting, aroma, grinding, Kopi Tubruk, simple brewing, espresso-based drinks, and coffee as part of Indonesian social life. Usually around 1–2 hours.

02 · Cook, Eat & Share

Prepare simple Indonesian food, understand ingredients and spices, discuss dietary needs, share a meal, and clean the shared workspace. Usually around 2–3 hours.

03 · Writing & Storytelling

Conversation or focused work with Endik about screenwriting, novels, characters, dialogue, adaptation, travel writing, creative discipline, or Kindle publishing. Scope and preparation determine the fee.

04 · Natural Dye & Eco-Batik

Learn about Indigofera, pigment, cloth, wax, canting, repeated dyeing, drying, and the difference between a short introduction and a full multi-stage process.

05 · Culture & Local Life

Explore language, family customs, village life, food, wayang, keris, batik, history, contemporary media, environmental knowledge, and mutual cultural exchange.

06 · A Slow Day

Read, write, drink coffee, sit in the garden, talk, rest, and reconnect without any medical, therapeutic, or healing promise.

07 · Seasonal Nature Learning

Trees, gardening, mangroves, coastal cleaning, waste sorting, Indigofera, driftwood, or sea turtle conservation education according to actual conditions. Wildlife is never guaranteed.

PRICING & INCLUSIONS

Confirmed Before the Activity

Why Prices Vary

Participant numbers, duration, materials, ingredients, facilitators, transport, meals, project contribution, preparation, and special requests affect the final cost.

Homestay Guests

Accommodation includes breakfast and regular drinks. Structured experiences may still require advance booking, materials, transport, or a separate fee.

Day Visitors

Selected activities may be available without an overnight stay, but cooking, writing, natural dye, group programs, meals, and field activities should be confirmed first.

CHILDREN, ACCESS & SAFETY

Adapt the Activity to the Participant

Children & Families

Some activities can be simplified for children, but responsible adults must supervise continuously. Dikasih does not provide professional childcare.

Accessibility

Uneven ground, natural stone, stairs, narrow paths, mud, heat, and limited formal accessibility infrastructure may affect participation. Explain needs before booking.

Weather Changes

Activities may be shortened, moved indoors, postponed, or cancelled because of rain, heat, unsafe roads, family emergencies, missing materials, wildlife protection, or local priorities.

RESPONSIBLE DOCUMENTATION

Photography Is Not Automatic Permission

  • Ask before photographing or recording hosts, children, neighbours, community members, facilitators, cultural objects, private spaces, wildlife, or conservation locations.
  • A person agreeing to a photograph does not automatically agree to advertising, commercial publication, fundraising, or location tagging.
  • Schools, journalists, filmmakers, professional photographers, researchers, and commercial creators should explain intended use before arrival.
  • Do not treat village life, poverty, environmental work, or local residents as background content for self-promotion.

GROUP VISITS

Schools, Communities, Creative Teams & Organisations

Send the organisation name, contact person, participant count and ages, proposed date, arrival and departure time, learning goals, preferred activities, transport, meals, dietary needs, documentation plan, accessibility or safety considerations, and budget.
